A day at the lake runs from 6 AM to 6 PM in four minutes. Fish bite best at dawn and dusk, and some breeds feed harder as the light goes. Catch big, rare fish for the highest score: there are 21 fish and 9 pieces of junk to discover.

How to play

• Aim with the mouse or the arrow keys. The target stays on open water.
• Cast: hold Space (or Enter, or the mouse button) and let go when the ring around the target is tight. A perfect cast draws fish from further away. Landing right on top of a fish spooks it.
• Strike: fish nibble before they bite. When the bobber goes under, press. Pressing during a nibble spooks the fish, and waiting too long costs you the bait.
• Reel: hold to reel in, and ease off when the fish thrashes or the line snaps. Leave it slack too long and the hook slips out.
• Press L for your fishing log. It is saved in your browser.
